Freaky Friday Fears?

Will there be a follow-through today on yesterday’s upward thrust? As today is Friday, it is anybody’s guess. Traditionally, Friday is not an investor’s favourite day. As many things can happen during the week-ends, investors are doubly cautious. They rather watch at the side-lines. Fund managers will always be in the market picking under-valued stocks especially when you have that silly fallout such as on Wednesday.

Bursa recouped 14 points yesterday. How much would it gain today? Can it gain back the remaining 19 points that it lost on Wednesday? Wall Street is up. European markets are in a merry mood and stock prices pan Asian-wise are all going north. There should be no bearish sentiments today. So let us see whether the bulls are back.

Market started on an uncertain footing. It was range-bound through-out the morning session ending 2.2 points down at 1178.11 at 12.30 pm. This loss can be attributed to Genting. Public Bank and MISC gained 30 sen whilst sweetheart Maybank put on 20 sen. Losers led gainers almost 3 to 1.

Let us see whether fortune will shine in the afternoon session.
