Farewell 2006…….Welcome 2007

While the hordes of merry-makers and cohorts of celebrants crowded the various city hot-spots to bide farewell to 2006 and to boisterously welcome the New Year, a select group chose to have communion with God as they welcomed in the New Year. They meet in the churches, temples and in other sanctuaries of worship.

I was at the Damansara Utama Methodist Church Watchnight event with my family. The celebration started at 10.30pm and the church hall was already overflowing with members by then.

I and my son had to be contented with sitting in the overflow room watching a 29 inch CCTV of the happenings. After glorious singing and fellowship we too had our countdown preceded with prayers and hopes for the new 365 days proffered to us. We wished everyone well and departed into the night to seek the comfort of our pillows.
